The Orioles also added catcher and Maryland native Steve Clevenger in return for pitchers Jake Arrieta and Pedro Strop. Feldman signed a one-year contract with the Cubs prior to this season. He made 15 starts over the first three months of the season, going 7-6 with a 3.46 earned run average. The Orioles hope the right-hander can help a starting staff that ranks 27th in the majors with a 4.79 ERA. Feldman is familiar with the American League after pitching for Texas from 2005-12. For his career, the 30-year-old is 46-50 with a 4.66 ERA in 219 games (116 starts). Clevenger, 27, has batted .199 in 79 games with the Cubs over the past three years. Arrieta has made five starts for Baltimore in 2013, compiling a 1-2 record with an unsightly 7.23 ERA. The 27-year-old righty is 20-25 with an unimpressive 5.46 ERA in 63 starts and six relief appearances for the Orioles, who plucked the TCU product in the fifth round of the 2007 draft.
